Code of Conduct

7 DOs and 1 DON’T make up the Pioneer Thursday Code of Conduct.

DO: Make yourself at home

Tip: Be welcoming and friendly…and help keep the place tidy.

DO: Contribute in a positive way that creates a safe and respectful community

Tip: Respect the social norms of conversation and professional engagement. Respect others’ desire to interact, or not, based on the context of the situation.

DO: Become an active participant in our experiment

Tip: Challenge yourself to think outside of your norms and grow. Be willing to provide constructive feedback and share your ideas.

DO: Attend with a mind of inquiry

Tip: Learn about other guests’ projects, explore new perspectives, open to the unexpected. Ask yourself how can I help?

DO: You are part of this community, help build it

Tip: Participate, spread the word, invite new faces, share your expertise and present.

DO: Connect responsibly and respectfully

Tip: Pioneer Thursday is not a happy hour. We are not a bar.

DO: Foster inclusivity

Tip: Great minds may think alike but it will take diverse minds to change the world. The community thrives because we welcome participants without regard to race, color, gender, sex, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or disability.

DON’T: Sell. Come to learn and share instead.

Tip: Innovation is about imagination, creativity, making unexpected connections, and enriching conversations. Focus on building relationships that will last.

Feel free at Pioneer Thursday – free to try, free to fail, free to learn, free to grow and free to connect. Imagine the best environment possible…and make it happen.
