Laura Butler is responsible for championing small business for Wells Fargo within the El Paso community. She regularly works with retail and business banking leaders to help them better serve their small business customers, and she has also built a strong network of local partnerships to empower entrepreneurs within the borderplex region.
In 2014, Butler received the Access to Capital Award for her leadership in developing the “Hablemos de Dinero” program. This partnership with the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce provides free small business development workshops to help entrepreneurs start, manage and grow their business.
Prior to assuming the Small Business Leader role, Butler worked as a store manager in El Paso for nearly 8 years and led a talented team of tellers and personal bankers. During her time, she also helped strengthen Wells Fargo’s partnership with the University of Texas at El Paso, her alma mater. Other positions Butler has held include Membership Banking Coordinator and Personal Banker.
Butler is active in the community and has served on the Board of Directors with AVANCE-El Paso. Currently, she is on the Women’s Border Center Council and ribbon cutting committee member with the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of Leadership El Paso – Class 36.
She has worked at Wells Fargo for 13 years and is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso. She also holds her Series 6 and 63 license.
