Dr. Jaime D. Farias has been with El Paso Community College since 1981. He received tenure in 1989. Has held various administrative positions to include Director, Division Chair, Division Dean, Instructional Dean, and most recently Associate Vice President of Workforce and Continuing Education.
Dr. Farias holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration from New Mexico State University and a MS and BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is 2012 Fellow of the Executive Leadership Academy sponsored by the Center for Studies in Higher Education, University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, in 2009 received Career Pathways Leadership Certification from the National Career Pathways Network, Center for Occupational Research and Development (CORD), Waco, Texas. In 1996 Dr. Farias received the Management Development Program Certificate from the Graduate School of Education, Harvard University. He also received in 1990 Developmental Education Specialist certification from The Kellogg Institute at the National Center for Developmental Education, Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina. Dr. Farias was a member of class 32 in 2010 for Leadership El Paso, a yearlong programs sponsor by the El Paso Chambers of Commerce. Dr. Farias sat on the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of College Technical Educators and was Vice President of the Board of Directors El Paso Center for Children.
